Cabin/galley ratio.

Just wondering your opinions as to how you would devide 9 feet(2700mm).
It's actually a shade under 9 feet.a queen matteress is 2030 so it leaves almost 700 minus wall thickness.

I was considering maybe a soft headboard for a backrest when sitting and the obvious maybe 100mm or 4 inches thick

Dale
I think I have got it now?..........300mm to a ft.
Usually your feet will go under the Galley. Back rest would be at the other end.
Leave at least 17" (you do the conversion) from your floor to the bottom of the counter top.
Counter top height is key to your build!!! :NC
Galley depth? Just think about how far you can reach in comfortably. Standard counter tops are 24".
30" is plenty of depth.

I should have plenty of room to not have to have our feet under the galley as a aussie queens I've is just over 2 meters.
Yes 1 foot is close enough to 300 mm and 25mm is close enough to 1 inch.
I'm toying with not having a box on the drawbar so I might have a battery locker behind the headboard

Remember to consider the thickness of yer bed/mattress when measuring fer yer feet under the galley...I have prolly 6 inches of styrofoam insulation sheets under my bed. ( Needed to raise the bed fer ease of entry/exit.)

Consider your appliances, Have a camp chef oven, and it would be great to have enough room for a sliding drawer, I had to make it swing out, so I have very little storage space. My TD is only 8 ft long, and I've made the bed 75 inches long, the hatch takes up about 2 inches, the bulk head about 1 so I have about 18 inches, and the oven needs about 22 and my cf35 cooler needs about 24. Another 6 inches would make a world of difference.

Our new bed in Kermit is 79" long and 59" wide. And there will be no Galley bottom or shelving (nothing) directly above the mattress! This will allow us to sleep with our head at either end.
Galley measurements will all revolve around that magic 17" number. Counter tops, vertical for cooler and fridge, etc. etc.
Remember! one of the most important Galley considerations is counter height when your TD is set up level and at ride or parked height. Household countertops are 36" high. so for comfort sake your TD countertops should be close to that. I know I have said this before, but it needs repeating! ;)

I found a 36" counter to be to high if you put your stove on top of it.

Yea I'm not having the galley protrude over the bed but I will have some kind of storage on that wall but it will be as high as possible.
My ratio has been determined now but keep the ideas flowing as this will be a valuable resource for custom lenth ttts.
I've just got to find a fridge I like that works hight wise
