30 days in the box

Postby cherokeegeorge » Mon Dec 22, 2014 10:02 am

This year I set a goal to camp 30 nights in my trailer. Going camping for new years and new years eve will be 30  . And I will be camping with my daughters family (new 560 camp-inn) and my parents who are in their 80s .

My peeps were victims 9 months ago of a home invasion robbery. Suffering from some ptsd and needing to be away from their home they got a rpod, and have gone back to camping, something they had a real passion for when I was a kid. So, camping for 3 nights to start the year and 4 generations of campers.from 83 to 4. Does it get anymore special?

George, Hope you and your family have a great time camping together. Living in SoCal as you do four season camping is doable. Enjoy your good times "in the box".

I'm jealous. I spent 21 nights in the box up here around 45ºN this year and don't feel it was enough, but getting beyond the winter solstice yesterday gives me hope.

I can't imagine experiencing a home invasion, especially from a family standpoint.

We may have to spend New Years Eve in Miss Piggy to meet our goal also??
Out goal was 60 nights for 2014........so far 59 nights in 2014.
Night "1" for us was two years ago on New Years Eve out in the shop (first of our 104 nights to date)101106101105
She fell asleep while I went in to turn out the Xmas light and get the camera???

Brian, it looks like you've started a new years tradition.

Tony, it's been very traumatic for them emotionaly. But the silver lining is, the've gotten back into camping. My dad was my camping role model.

I only got in 25 days this last season, but all of them were in the woods, none of this "garage/yard" camping. Doug

Only 22 for us in the tear, but we also had 9 in the big trailer.
Will have to do better next year.

And like Doug, all were "in the wild"

I only got in 13 days in 2014. 10 of them at Burning Man or a BM regional.

Gotta do better in 2015. Now there is a new years resolution. More camping in 2015

They were all in the wild Douglas. No hook ups, no showers, hey, didn't you camp in Jeromes back yard? ;)

Funny, every time I read your title, 30 days in the box, the first thing that I think of is that somebody's been in the slammer. After all, most of our tiny trailers are not quite box shaped.

Congratulations on doing 30 days time in your own personal joint.

Hmmmmm? Is there something you need to get off your chest? Something from the past? A calendar or two of hard time in the crowbar motel for stealing firewood?
