I recently bought another Teardrop, I think it's an original manufactured tear , I just don't know who might have built it??
It has a serial number stamped on the frame that begins TD55----. It also has a vintage Haddco jack and a cool cast aluminum hitch release. Not sure of the profile just yet, I'll have to pull the side off and straighten it up before I can get a good handle on the exact shape. It's a 4x8 and still has a sink in the galley area, original light inside, and an electrical inlet up high on the side. Only has one door. Looks like i'll have plenty to do this spring

Wow, I have no idea what you bought, but do have an idea that you will have your hands full, trying to reconstruct that little gem. I suppose worse neglected, rotted out and smashed trailers have been rebuilt, and I am looking forward to following your progress on this one. Take lots of pics and let us see them. Is there anything that is salvageable in the galley or interior? Good luck with your build.

Wow, I once bought a '77 motorhome that was in similar shape after the tow truck driver mashed it.
Like firefly said, it sounds like it found a good home with someone who will resurrect it.

If it was easy, everyone would be doing it

Looks to me it was in pretty decent condition before it got squashed so even in the worst case scenario you should be able to reuse a ton of parts

"a ton of parts"... ...I doubt it... ...probably just a little more than half a ton there... ;)

Couldn't help it. I'm a nerd. Looking forward to seeing your rebuild.

I'll go out on a limb and say it's a Benroy. Granted, it's a little smashed and a few more pictures would be helpful but I suggest you match what you have to Benroy pictures.

The Jack and coupler look to be a Benroy. The TD55---- follows suit as well. Is the sink porcelian and rectangular? Got any pictures of the remainder of the galley? Fenders, doors are correct also. Inside of galley hatch have aluminum bows?

Well today I de-constructed the mess. The profile does look like a Benroy, I'd show you pics but I have a new phone and I can get the pics transferred. :? Yes it has an enameled rectangle sink. The galley has an aluminium insert that is the backsplash and counter top. I have one aluminum "T" bow that I think was a hatch bow. Did Benroy make 8 footers in the fifties?
