While directed more towards housing there are some great ideas for insulating your floors where ever the may be.

Those videos are an outgrowth of the original Cold Climate Research Dept. at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Some years ago, an engineering dept. prop & local builder started by giving seminars & supplying literature on building in the Arctic. I attended a couple of them (& still have the books) before building my own off the ground cabin & a larger home for a friend. Since then. the university has it's own research building & much of the information is available on the internet. http://www.cchrc.org/

Since moving to the mid-west & buying a home, I've realized how little thought is given to energy use & interior climate.

A list of articles, some of which apply to building a trailer (insulation, vapor barrier, climate control, ect.) http://www.cchrc.org/publications

BTW that R-30 floor video is just an example, a real Artic floor should be at least R-50. :lol:
