Any temporary mount sid mirrors?

Does anyone know of any temporary mount side mirrors other than the big fender mount ones. I may pull my teardrop 20 miles with my 67 Dodge Dart, it doesn't have a passenger side mirror, and I don't want to install one (reproduction mirrors are spendy). I have a clamp on fender mount trailer mirror but the dart has a ridge at the top of the fender and the mirror mount hits it. Any ideas?

suction cups? open the hood and look at the seam under the edge. there should be bolts there that hold on the front fender panel. canoe and kayak lovers will sometimes attach a tie down strap to those bolts, with the strap folded in it does not show. When you need front anchor points you flip the loop of tie down strap out and shut the hood. This makes a very solid front anchor point for tieing down kayaks and canoes, it should be a good anchor for a modified side mount towing mirror.

A standard to the hot rod builders has been "Peep" Mirrors, they come in different mounting configurations including right and left's, it would clamp to your upper window or door frame on you 67 Dart. Very inexpensive. They are not really a towing mirror but it makes you legal unless your state has a view area minimum. Just Google "peep mirror" and you'll get many variations and suppliers.

There are ones avaliable here in aus that have brackets that clip under the door and into the top of the door panel you should be able to find them on ebay I recon
The have adjustable webbing straps to tighten them up. Try searching towing mirrors

CIPA mirror doesn't look like it's distance out from the door is adjustable. (Perhaps I'm wrong on that.) Wheel Masters version may give you the choice of not having it stick out so far.

Yea that kind of thing but there are a heap of variations.
Try a search on ebay.com.au...a mate has some nice ones but he's off on a tour around aus for a year at the moment.

tried the fender mount the other day, and it fit, it was a couple years ago I tried it and don't remember what the problem was. The fender mount is a little overkill for a teardrop but it will be better than nothing, also I will be towing the teardrop to a car show for the local high school shop class and I would assume most have probably never seen trailer mirrors. I do have peep mirrors on my 51 Plymouth but the Dart is a convertible so no window frame to clip it on to.

I've seen a type that goes over top of standard mirrors, but that was made for modern plastic housings, likely wouldn't fit on anything made before mid 80s.

However, an advantage of the fender mount I think is that they look big and scary so can give the eejuts second thoughts about pulling out in front of you, 'coz it looks like you're hauling something "serious".
