Get yourself a bluetooth keyboard it might feel a bit more natural.
I have a love hate relationship with mine too.
Some nice covers with built in bluetooth keyboards can be had on ebay pretty cheaply

Love Love Love my tablet. The instant on capability makes it many times more useful in my line of work than a laptop.

Stick with it, Vedette. I think you'll be surprised how many outdoor and camping resources are available through that device.

Can I ask what type you got?

Love my tablet... Got a Android based operating system.... Only thing I didn't like was keyboard software that came with it, it was simplified for idiots, got a different keyboard program, more like PC keyboard layout and loving it....

Only real negative for me is most websites now have modified versions of "display" for tabs and most suck... Have to keep telling websites to show site in PC format....

Got a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4
Seems my fingers are too big, eyesight is not good enough and I am too rough??
Sandi keeps saying it is a touch screen......not a pound screen???? :x
Now it has gone into upside down mode! :x :x :?
By the time I get a message typed, the screen looks as smudged up as my wine glass at the end of the night.
Takes me twice as long to type a message.

I hate change! :x
Just learn how to use one thing, and it either breaks,or becomes out of date??????
Had to get a new camera yesterday too........double trouble? :? Now I have two things to learn how to use!
Good thing I don't have one of those cellular telephones, as I am just not ready for this much technology all at once.

I think typing with a Samsung tablet is pretty fast. Make sure the Swype type is turned on and learn how to use it, it will speed up your typing.

Brian:

I'm laughing! Yeah, at you -none of this "with you stuff."

 Why am I not surprised to hear this from someone that's driving a 1890's Studebaker! :?  ;)

Hang in there. If you need any help, there's always that ten year old kid down the block that can help you if you get stuck.

I've got an open-ended career change coming up and I had toyed with the idea of starting a tech consultation service. Everywhere I go, everything I read, seems to reinforce this idea.

Thinking about calling it "Rent-a-(grand)kid" Any thoughts?

Love my Galaxy Tab4, for what I use it for. I got a great deal on it and I use it mostly to watch Xfinity or you tube videos at work and surf here and facebook. Easy to carry and use everywhere.

I have a tablet & desktop. I much prefer the desktop for ease of use, typing, faster processor & most activities. The tablet just seems so slow, clunky to type on & difficult to use compared to a PC, which is what I use at work for my job & at home here as I browse things.

I do use the tablet for movies with the chrome-cast in the living room, its primary use. On the road I know this will have to change, but I'm not looking forward to using it as my daily computer. My phone seems to be quicker in general, but at least it is the same company & OS, so there is some familiarity.

I'm with you on the technology stuff. I have to use it for work, but I detest the constant changes in software & hardware. I'm counting down the days now until I'm 65, just so I can leave the job behind (456 today) and have "free" insurance.
