New tries on HF trailer. 12"

I was looking at my trailer and have considerable wear on one tire. I think this is because I widened my HF trailer 6" on both sides and obviously that caused the uneven wear. I was going to purchase new tires and they look like the same Harbor Freight tires. Is there any tire available that is better? I have 5 years on these and they have done their job. Just thought I would replace and pack wheel bearings while I'm at it.

It's real hard to find a decent replacement tire. I replaced mine and re-packed the bearings earlier this year. You can almost buy the whole wheel and tire for the price of replacement tires alone. I found that since we are Amazon Prime members, the best price I could get was from them. I bought the 12 inch Carlisle tires, had them mounted by Wal-Mart for $4.00 each for a final cost of about $80.00 if I remember correctly.

Mike said it all in one word "CARLISLE" The Duro tires that came with my HF were crap. I went as far as to complain to call corporate in Georgia and was politely told "too bad" !

The pricing on these tires seem a bit steep but there are two things that need to be kept in mind...... most are class c and have a rather hefty load rating. Also the quantity built per run is much smaller that a standard automotive tire making the per unit price a bit higher.

It seems they have changed tire suppliers.

My original HF trailer were Duro. The ones I bought this weekend were a chinese manufacturer I hadn't heard of.
These were on a 'super duty' and are still class C rated.
