Best putty for repainting my plywood camper?

Postby rlphoto » Sun Jun 14, 2015 1:09 pm

Hello folks, The plywood camper in my avatar is almost 10 years old now and needs repainted. Since I just used regular old ac plywood for the sides, they were kind of rough from the beginning, so now I want to smooth out the roughness, fill a few small de-lamination places, fix old screw holes, etc...

I was researching fillers and discovered bondo wood filler, and bondo all purpose putty. The bondo putty is was cheaper than the bondo wood filler, Wood filler is $20 quart, putty is $25 gallon.

Anybody have any experience with those products? or can anyone recommend a suitable trowelable material?

Thanks!

I used the bondo putty on mine. Thin coats, cures very fast. Only time will tell if it's any good. Hope I get at least 10 years out of my plywood camper .
