Dimensions

I am just starting to build/design my version of a teardrop and I have a question for an experienced builder. As I am going to use 3/4" sides, should I make my base 46.5 inches wide so that the final width will end up at 48"? I am worried that the aluminum skin will be too narrow if I end up at 49.5". Is this a correct assumption? I hope this isn't a too obvious question but I want this to be the best I can build.

You are absolutely correct, 46.5 floor. Built a few that way. I use 2 X 2 subfloor with 3/4 plywood and screw sides into floor.

Thank you. I may have a few more questions as I get further into this project so I hope there are more people as responsive as you are!
