Covering

Postby oldsloane » Tue Jul 14, 2015 10:21 pm

I am kicking around an idea to cover my trailer with truck box liner. It is tough, totally water proof and fairly reasonably priced. I am thinking of having it sprayed directly over the 3/4" plywood skin but I wonder if I need to prime or seal the wood first. I would appreciate any thoughts on this idea or would like to hear from someone that has tried it before.

One of our TOW members made one a few years ago and it held up quite well.
He used a round over bit which looked to be a 3/4" bit on the roof edge before the Rhino Liner was applied.
He has since sold it and has gone on to a larger trailer.

After a bit of research I discovered that the cost of using armorthane would be more than the entire cost of building an aluminum skinned unit!
