General Discussion about almost anything Teardrop or camping related

Halloween

Postby Shadow Catcher » Sat Oct 31, 2015 9:03 pm

Living in a Very Small town, roughly 500, in the middle of farm country means we get in excess of 150 kids and their parents. Nancy has been a teacher for, well lets say she retires next spring (more tear drop time). Needless to say many recognize her as well as many of the parents who were her students.
One of the parents commented she really liked the teardrop.

We live in the mountains. Most homes are spread out so hard to trick or treat, but we live in a neighborhood of about 30+ homes. We get 300+ kids each year. The first year was a real surprise and we ran out of candy real fast. They were trucking the kids in on wagons with hay and dropping them off at the end of the street to walk around. The neighborhood turns the porch light (there are no street lights) on if they want to participate in the mad dash, others hide in darkness or leave for the evening. I usually spend $50 on candy at Walmart and hand it until it is gone or 8:00pm. We setup a table under the carport light with pumpkins and other decorations and usually the little ones start showing up at 5:00 pm and the older kids after 7:00 pm. By 8:00 pm the street is dark. Usually I can barely get home from work before they start showing up, this year with it being Saturday we were ready. This year I also gave 3 tours of the teardrop. My kids are getting older 14 and 18 so one day soon I too will be hiding in the dark.

Happy Halloween
