We a planning on doing the visit DC this June and are wondering which campground? Cherry Hill is on the metro line and is convenient but a bit expensive
Recommendations?

It may not be a fit for everyone or every destination, but when we do the popular trips that draw the crowds, we will stay as far as 30 or so miles away where everything is cheaper and less crowded, then just drive to your main destination or tour spot making day trips. It works for us

Ok, I did the DC thing with 2 kids and a minivan 7 years ago.
Cherry hill makes is so easy to see the mall area it is worth the extra cost(no mall parking cost). You will take a bus to the metro to the mall and back to the camp ground(Cherry Hill lays it out for you). There is little parking in the mall area and what there is is expensive. With Cherry hill you don't have to drive the beltway or find parking.
Cherry hill is a parking lot kind of campground. I would just use Cherry hill when doing the mall area then move on.

Most of the time I do the same but If you are doing the DC mall that would really not work. The beltway would ruin the trip and parking would be hell.
That is advice from a very frugal guy!!
