Rotomolded Ozark Trail Cooler

Postby Pixie Susan » Sun May 01, 2016 12:01 am

Finally got take my new 52 qt rotomolded cooler out for a test drive while camping 3 days outside of Nashville. I didn't pre-chill, didn't add frozen water, didn't efficiently pack with ice, didn't drain it and left it outside the whole time. It still had ice cubes in it after 3 days. I call that $149 well spent.

Interesting! I went on the website to order one and they're out. :(

Can you give me the outside dimensions?

Last I had checked, which was weeks ago, they still weren't even available online, only in stores. I'll get the dimensions posted up tomorrow.

28.5" x 15.5" x 16.5"

Measurements taken at the greatest LxWxH but excluding the protruding lock hole/bottle opener. That little part would add another 1" to the 15.5".

Sweet thank you! I was hoping it was less than 18" tall... It'll fit in my galley

If I can find one for sale.

Here's another option a friend told me about: https://www.rticcoolers.com/shop/coolers/roto-molded/RTIC-45-White. The Rtic coolers appear to be as well made as Yeti, but half the cost.

I have built many trailers and coolers for the food service industry and we have done lots of research in the field. I agree that Yeti is top of the line, however if you take an everyday cooler build a box around it, fill the void with spray foam you have an A #1 piece of equipment for a fraction of the cost. I am sure with the way you guys can build this would be a snap. You can also freeze your food and plastic bottle beverages, which keeps the temp down in the box.

saw one of these at my local walmart. The larger size only.

Seems pretty nice, that one was too large for my galley though.

25 pounds for an empty cooler !!! :o ... What are we, camping or Hauling ??? "Can be moved by one person" ... EMPTY ... :R Personally , I’d use a Thriftier cooler and spend more on the contents ... Not fooling around with all that just to keep a Diet Coke cool .....

To each their own, but bear resistant and 10 days of ice is pretty attractive to me with some of the places I go

I cannot get the video to work.
I am a victim of cooler and bear enounter, but mine was because of a lapse of common sense.
Isn't any effort that slows down a bear worth considering? And I do mean slow down and not stop.
