Fishing Rod Holder Question

Postby lrrowe » Tue Sep 13, 2016 6:37 pm

I am searching for the perfect for me fishing rod holder for my CT. Something off the ceiling seems to be right for my rig. I know about all the standard holders you can purchase online or from the big box sporting goods stores. But I am wondering what unique ideas our fellow camper/anglers have come up with. Thanks.
Bob

I used these holders in the top of my camper shell to keep a few fly rods on hand. They were cheap and easy to find a way to mount.

I also thought about maybe a rod locker or large pvc pipe underneath the camper when i use my Jeep. Just a thought I think having a rod on hand at all times is important!

Thanks, but I am not sure I am seeing how to use them in this application. I understand the foam piece which looks to hold 4 rods, but the other piece only shows a spot for two rod butts and it looks like it mounts 90 degrees from where I would want it. What am I seeing wrong?

There are numerous mounts similar to this. But this was the cheapest and ready available

The photos help. The piece I was confused about appear to be mounting plates for the foam section. I have never seen this one before. I take it that the plate arm over the foam locks into place thereby holding the pole in place. I will check out the Acadamy website in more detail.

Slow, I have thought about using PVC in one way or another.

That is correct. I have left the spinning rod in there since may and it has not move or come out. If you go that route you may have to adapt the mount to your needs.
