Roofs!

Which is best and what am I missing?
Our roof is the only big thing that needs to be redone. I was looking at the roof this afternoon as I was finishing my daughters canopy bed. I added a curtain and replaced the canopy material with plywood... much more comfy for her. Luckily I had a small mattress for her. I added some hooks to hang stuff up on and when I got a glimpse of the roof
in the inside, I decided it is going to get done in the fall.
So which is best...an arched roof, a frame roof, flat roof? Metal, plywood? Any other types of roofs that are recommended?

Pictures would help, no idea which type of build you have...

The time you spend planning is more important than the time you spend building.........

I tried to post some pictures, but it wouldnt let me. It said invalid file. Im going to try my best to describe it.

Right now the roof is at a slight incline from front to back. It is starting to bow downward a bit due to the way the supports were done. They were done in small length wood pieces going the long and short lengths. Kinda like a checker board. Rather than just one piece going one length.
We would like to add a few inches in height. Would it be easier to have an arch going across or an arch going from front to back? Or an acute sharp angle like a house would have?

Im hoping I described that well. And I will try to see why it wouldnt let me post pics.
