Oh rain, yes, send us some here to Central Tex.
Living on a large wooded hill, I worry every time I step outside and smell smoke. We too, are under a burn ban.
Apparently not everyone reads about such things..

+2 on the rain Tim!  Hope they're getting some in the East Mountains as well, and especially on the fires (mud slides notwithstanding).

(It's raining here in Upstate NY right now, but that's nothing special) :SH

Not today, but last Friday I went into the Bunnings store at Parafield.
Unlike last trip, when the the timber racks were nearly empty, it's obvious they've had a big delivery of pine.
Its all plastic wrapped. And it's marked Product of Sweden.
We've had to import Pine 4 x 2's from Sweden.
My state is somewhat known for its Pinus Radiata (Monterey Pine) plantations.
Why the heck do we need to import pine from Northern Europe?
I'll say one think -its lovely clear timber compared to ours. Straighter and far fewer knots.

Send me some Mick,, I could use some good pine.. Haven't seen any good stuff for a couple years now.. where I live, some lumber products are more scarce than others.

I washed all the mud off the Durango that I got driving the Alaskan Pipeline (the Dalton highway) 700+ miles from Prudhoe Bay to Fairbanks. I had to use the self service place first so that the full service could wash it. Interesting drive. The road is partly paved (about 40%). The speed limit the whole way is 50 mph whether paved or gravel I wish the wildfires up here wasn't so bad the smoke hides most of the sceanry,

Well actually yesterday,
This past 4th of July was the 29th, my better half and I have spent together.. not your traditional anniversary,
but hey.. a great day to celebrate just as well,,
So I treated her to her favorite dinner.. she loves ribeye steak,, so I grilled and smoked a couple..
always one for her dinner and one for lunch the next day.. then I added some other favorites..
Diablo's (cream cheese stuffed jalapenos wrapped in bacon) and smoked fresh vegetables with cheese on top..
For me a slab of fresh cod smoked.. I'll take fish over steak any day..

Hope y'all had a great Holiday, we sure did... :applause:

Finally mocked up the rear of my enclosed trailer conversion

Image

The piano hinge is temp screwed into the trailer for placement and the bed door is tacked to the hinge.

Image
You hide your conversion and call it stealth. I put mine out in the open and give it a beer.
