I do the same at Home Depot and replaced some ancient ones no problem.

Well all but one were "out of date". OMG they will probably blow up if filled  ! The one I was able to get done and the fill was $21 and change. I took the remaining ones and made a 12 mile trip to the ag propane dealer the next town over. They explained they also could only fill them if they were re-certified but their sister plant could do that 30 miles farther north and then fill them. Well I drove the 30 miles to find that re-certification was not a courtesy it was a $25.00 charge and additional for the fill.( had been running $20 for my #20 pounder sized ones) So if you do the math that is $540.00 to fill the remaining twelve tanks. Guess I am going to look into a big tank being set :(

Take them to your local propane exchange. You only get 15 pounds, but it beats the tar out of having to buy new, or paying to recertify your old tanks.

FWIW, I have 2 exchange, and 2 of my own tanks, Assuming usable recertification dates, you can refill exchange tanks no problem. Be VERY careful though, and check the dates on the tanks they give you from exchange. One of the tanks Blue Rhino gave me at exchange was already expired.

Prepped the bird, peeled a ton of tads, helped with the green bean casserole. Thankful for the chance for the entire family to be with us this year. Also thankful for a helpful and amusing tnttt family over the years.

Take a minute and think about what you can be thankful for this holiday.

Nope... I'm wondering the same.

He still hasn't logged in since November 12th... Sixteen days.

In the middle of Kansas. We ride Lake Barton and the trails at Switchgrass Lake Wilson. I think you can find the both on the all trails app. All Trails is a little behind on the trails at Barton. We have about 4x the trail shown.

Re: What did you do today

We were in Gallup NM this past weekend for their annual balloon rally and hit the jackpot at their flee market Saturday afternoon:

First, I found a pre-EPA, 2.5 gallon gas can! (It's now down in our garage or I'd share a picture, but you all know what I mean.) It's one of the squat metal kind, that won't tip over in the back of the truck. No rust, practically like new $15! Even had a cup of gas still in it, that I probably won't try and use.

Then we found a small shop vacuum, weed wacker, and long handled shovel and got the guy to knock off $5 for the three:

I've been buying up shop vacs at thrift stores, whenever I can get a sufficiently good deal, because once we get around to cleaning up our wood shop after the teardrop build, I want to build some work stations for our various tools and include built in dust collection for each.

When we came back from our Summer trip, we needed a weed wacker, so if I get to it before the snow covers the brush, I'll take care of that chore. We already have the battery and charger for the Ryobi, so it worked out to be a bargain for us.

The long handled shovel (now down in the garage with the gas can) will be handy, especially if I can ever find a teenager who knows how to operate one.

One of the reasons I married Shelly is because she owned a heavy duty air compressor

167779

but it's a little big for spray painting, which is what she wants to do with her mini's (doll house furniture). At the swap meet we found a better size for that job

167778

so that became my birthday present to her. (She's so hard to shop for!)

Also found some movies on DVD. Not too many books at this swap meet, Tony and Ann Hillerman's excepted; but I already have most of theirs. If you are ever in the area and plan to go, there are also plenty of vendors selling mutton sandwiches, fry bread, and similar fast food. Also lots of jewelry and hand made items from the people of that area.

Finally got the bed for the van constructed. It reminded me how much I suck at metalworking.
