Yeah that was scary. After the initial quake we had a loud bang (almost like my house was picked up and dropped a few inches).
Then the rumble came.
My house creeked after the bang.
Didn't see any damage to the house before I left for work. I'll check again tonight.

25 aftershocks. You can hear those coming.
Some reports of this being felt clear down to southern Utah, Colorado and Vegas.

They say we are overdue for a big one, which happens every 1200 years.

Living in the land of Earthquakes, So Cal, I have a plastic shed on the outside of the house with earthquake supplies. Much of it came out of the trailer I sold but given the times now that shed has converted to my emergency COVID19 supplies.

Using the new mill to make a few holes & set up a surface grinding attachment for the 2" X 72" belt sander. Use it to finish stock & get rid of mill rolled finish for the knives.
Holes for the stage & tube (yep, it's just some 2" receiver hitch tube), this is the base which mounts a precision table to the tube for tracking

Table in place for fine incremental movements, will be cutting just 0.001" or a bit more for the finishing process

Looks like A clean setup

Not today but yesterday and day before I installed a used $200 B&W turnover ball hitch in my 07 duramax. Should be handy over the next few years

Today I started to paint our bedroom. I don't think I have painted it in over 10 years! The seafoam blue was getting to me! We also finished making the vacuum adapter for the pool. All I need to do now is put the hose on. I'll go to Lowes tomorrow to get the hose and the last pail of paint. I also bought the RV hitch adapter for the bikes today. I'll show that on the other thread when I get it.
Last week we were supposed to go on vacation. Our first long trip in the TT. We ended up not going fearing we would be stuck in another state. So I have had off since last week Tuesday. I have decided to do some of the oddball fixes and more around the house. My husband is an essential worker, he still has his job. He did stay home today fearing he was sick. We both think its allergies No fever. Thankful.
Over the last week, out of boredom, I have built a beehive, planted my garden, made the pool vacuum, cleaned the pool (getting ready for summer), baked bread (hard to find bread), started painting, mowed the front and back lawn.
I was going to go back to work on April 1, but the city decided April 9. And they're possibly extending it. I was going to leave town for a state park this weekend, but I don't think it's going to happen.
I'm hoping we can get back to normal soon.

Wash your hands and stay well everyone!

Making my chains detachable, I have a very good coupler lock but one of the ways to get around that is to cross the chains under the coupler and tow it to where it can be worked on.

I do the same, toss the chains into the coupler lock and they can’t go to far.

Locks are a joke anyway. A 60v grinder and I’ll have your trailer attached to my truck in less time then it takes the owner to find a light switch, a gun, or the door to yell.
Keepin honest folks honest usually. Or the pesky friend from borrowing with out asking

Got the yard leveled down, 4 inches below all top of concrete surfaces so I can trench in the sprinkler system, water stand pipes, some power in a few places.

Surface grinder update

Postby noseoil » Wed Apr 01, 2020 7:09 am

Still working on it, a little more progress. Drilled the roller bearing plate & lined it up for the track. Magnetic chuck is attached & located but still waiting for the contact wheel to arrive for attachment.

With the track attached

Chuck in place

The bolt is a mounting point for the contact wheel. It will be drilled & tapped to locate the wheel on the tube
