Custom Cut Mattress?

Any pointers appreciated. In Tony Latham's book, he mentions "Foam Factory" - thanks Tony, does not look like they have non standard sizes. My area ends up being an odd size: 47" x 72".

Ah! Alrightee, then. Excellent. Thanks, Tony. And any suggestions about a mattress cover or something like that? If I have to learn how to use a sewing machine, this might be a 2021 launch. I spoke I could sub that out - maybe even very locally

Thanks a lot. I did hear back from foam factory and they will custom cut too, so I'll do the math and order this weekend. Thanks, guys.

Also look into your local Upholstery shop.
They can get better quality foam with different firmness and can sew up a cover too.
Most RV's come with really cheap foam that squashes down/wears out after awhile.

Yes, I can vouch for the electric carving knife. Easy to control, cuts like butter. I cut 1.5" off the long edge and I used the cover it came with and just did a few tuck stitches by hand to take up the slack underneath.

Thanks, Will. I did, in fact, order from them yesterday and they will cut to the right size. Ended up being very reasonable at around $150. Thanks for the endorsement!

I don't know the cost difference. I got mine from the Foam Factory.
It was a custom size in a cover and quickly delivered.

I got the high quality foam, 4 inches thick. The price difference was not huge and I figure gotta treat myself right at my advanced age. Should be here in 2 weeks +/-. I will report back. Got a mattress cover as well.
