What can I use to keep Garmin GPS in place

I use my GPS frequently. When I stick it to the windshield it is ok until there is a temperature change then falls. I worry it will get damaged. Short of using Gorilla glue maybe I need something to hold it on the dash and forget the windshield stuff. Any suggestions?

I have used silicone sealant to glue the mount to both glass and dash materials. I tend to keep a vehicle for 9 or 10 years and don't worry about whether or not that might affect resale value.

mine only escapes when the vehicle has been left in the car when it isn't running w/ a/c on

when leaving the vehice w/o a/c running i dismount the unit from the bracket and that usualy keeps the bracket in place

* My wife uses a Garmin, also, but has no trouble with the windshield-sticking suction cup...probably adheres well to the nicotine stains there (disgusting to a lifelong non-smoker like me, but it's HER car!).

* However, I went a different direction with my GPS, using an 8" android tablet mounted on my truck's dash. I previously had used a TOM TOM 1 and hated it, so now using offline Google maps and the built-in GPS on my Lenovo tablet (my second one, a Tab4...after I broke its' predecessor, a Yoga Tab 3), I can easily track my travels with a larger screen than the usual GPS.

I also use a bean bag mount on the dash. However the rubber on the bottom is more slippery now than when new, also even when the bean bag still worked right, the gps would slide out of reach forward when I had to hit the brakes suddenly. So I put some "Cat's Tongue" tape https://cattonguegrips.com/ on the bean bag. Use it for other things too. Some items it works better with tape on dash, and one camera mount needed the tape on both sides. Also available on amazon.

Its horrendously expensive, but high vacuum grease on the suction cup instead of water would help a lot.
