Made It Out Just In Time!

Postby Dahlia47 » Thu Jul 09, 2020 3:52 pm

We took the travel trailer...aka the little blue thing...out to the beach right before they shut it down. Made it out the day before, I believe it was. We really put it to the test. All my gadgets too! LOL
First, everyone was getting stuck. Pulling each other out. Including us. With the travel trailer. Thankfully my sis and bro in law had the fj and they pulled us out. YAY! Got it parked. Got it all set up. The generator was up and running. The dogs were nice and cool with the a/c going. Set up the potty, with the poo bags. All was good! Needed the shower to rinse all the sand off. Played in the waves! Had some beer!
Then came din din! Time for some vittles! :stompspam: Just NOT spam. We had a shrimp boil! Boiled over a campfire!! OMG!!! That was some darn good stuff!!! Holy Cow!!!
Got to spend time with hubby, daughter, son and his gf. My bro, my sis, and her hubby. There were 3 dogs running around! I had a blast! I hadn't had a good time like that in a long time!
All my gadgets got put to the test. They performed excellently!
This weekend we are going to another state park. I have been trying to get to this one for 2 years! Almost didn't go due to the heat. I think we will stay in the water and hike early in the morning. We got a couple of battery-powered fans. They work great! No generator after 10 pm. So I gotta shut down the old generator.

You know... when I first got the travel trailer, I thought I maybe might take it out 2- maybe 3 times a year. Nah! This weekend will be our 3rd time this year. I still have a couple more trips planned. LOL!

Good for you for getting out! It's amazing how much fun just getting away for a quick trip is. I have always had Big trailers that are great for a long trip or to stay in while I am working away from home. But they are not easy to take out for a quick trip. I just retired in Feb, and am planning on a new big trailer and am building a tiny standy that the wife and I could take for quick trips to the beach or over night just about anywhere. And not have to do a satellite search to be sure our trailer will fit in the parking spot. I have had truck campers in the past but the wife does not like driving with one. The little standy can be pulled by just about anything we have. DR

The quick trips are fun! All the gadgets I have are compact and easy to put away in a tight spot. Not much room. But we have everything we need and then some extras. This little thing is so light we can push it around by ourselves. I have one last gadget to get for it and in the fall when it cools down I will give it a new paint job.
