What's your favorite add-on for trailers?

Postby Mountainhwy4 » Sun Mar 14, 2021 11:06 pm

I'm building a slide-out 'wash station' in the galley underneath the counter right now that has 2 cut outs for the collapsible wash basins to make it easier when we do dishes. I'll post pictures of it later when I'm finished.

It got me thinking of any other ideas for nice practical add-ons for trailers that can add functionality, utilize space better or even just give a little more peace of mind when camping and don't want to put as much effort into [ ].

Anybody have any neat things they've put into their trailers to make their lives a little easier (or just cool things to show off)?

Not that I've ever actually thought that on a trip.... /s

The flip out kitchen with the flip down pantry door/counter is my best ever idea and I have to give full credit to Vickie !

  • * There have been more mods that I've made to adapt the trailer for my use: an inside-to-outside hideaway urinal (for very bad nighttime weather), an active suspension/shock absorber substitute, and a dual set of tongue jacks (a "removable" wheeled jack, and a "permanent" scissor jack) for different terrain & needs, among others. And, I modify something after every trip.

Galley slide outs, and the rack mounted awning. No more pop ups.

Galley slide

164546

Galley lights. These are repurposed landscape step lights. The battery to run them is mounted to the ribs in between.

160332

A wind chime. Just because.

164544

A harbor freight hitch basket mounted on the tongue.

160324

The basket in use. The PVC pipe holds radio antennas. The bike rack holds the spare and is mounted using a trailer hitch meant to bolt onto a old school pickup step bumper.
