This is a wonderful spot right next to the creek. Last time we were here we saw a pair of hawks nab a hate right in front of us as we had afternoon tea.
Harder to spot the platypus. Notoriously shy creatures. The kids reckon the heard one during the night. I caught a quick glimpse of one early in the morning as it briefly broke the surface. A bit like seeing a fish jump, you see the splash but not only a flash of the creature.

I am enjoying a winter camp. Not as cold as those if you who are out in the snow

When I say mountain, not really. I recall from high school geography that the highest peak in Australia is still 4feet short if whatever the accepted height of is to be seemed a real mountain. Ancient continent here and whatever mountains may have been have long since eroded away.
Anyway still enjoy a camp fire, morning mist and seeing the damp evaporate off the solar panels
