What Is Best Way To Get Into A Teardrop?

Postby RVhomecamp » Tue Jan 25, 2022 12:57 pm

Hello,
I'm 75 years old and have been researching all that I can to learn more about teardrop trailers.
I love the concept of teardrops and have several brands in mind if we were to purchase one.
My big concern is that I'm not as agile as I once was and have bad knees.
So my question is:
What is the best way to get into a teardrop? Do you crawl in on your hands and knees or do you sit down at the doorway and kind of just roll in or roll out. Lol
For some reason, youtube videos don't seem to show how to get inside of one!
Thanks,
Dan

I simply sit down in the doorway and roll in. When exiting I sit up and then put the feet out with a 90 degree swivel. Having an overhead shelf to grab hold of makes the sitting up easier.

I'm 72 and have been in teardrops for about 10 years. Just sit like you do on your regular bed and lay back and swivel in.

:thumbs-up:

And that's one of many reasons that teardrops work.

All the above are good advice. Consider a side tent or similar for dressing and/or using a toilet. I've used a teardrop for about five years and I'm closing in on my mid sixties. I would never say it is easy to dress/undress inside but I can do it.
