Really, I am asking a question and you begin a reply with LOL? Not very friendly.
I have done my research and I know the commercial producers use polyester resin and chopper guns. They do this for ease of use and cost.
Yes, I know their commercial molds are expensive. I know my mold will not be cheap.
Also, for one offs, a form would be easier than a mold. Like a kayak builder who lays out cedar strips and then glasses the outside, removes the hull, and then glasses the inside.
You are assuming things about my purchase of epoxy that are simply not true. Please don't do that.
I have seen racing boats built of a sandwich of foam and fiberglass (or kevlar, or carbon fiber) and epoxy. Why not a camper shell?
Finding a used camper that is affordable is darn near impossible. Some used ones are selling for new prices. New ones start around $24000. I met a guy last year in Michigan that bought a 1969ish Boler camper for $7000, and he traveled to Manitoba to get it (think about that!). Then he had to fix it up as it was showing its age. He also had to strip the old paint before giving it a new coat. If you think about those prices, building a mold/form is looking better and better.
