I'll probably not change my plans, but surely will do a lot more complaining.

Just got back from a 4 day outback camp. 709 km used 80 litres of diesel at $2.10 per litre.
That's $168 Australian to do 709 km.
$127 US to do 440 miles.
It's painful, but I'll probably be like Don - still do the trips, just complain more.

We're going to eat the cost and go back East again anyway.

Warning: Political rant coming:

Putin and his gangsters are from the KGB, the secret police of the Soviet Union, and from the days of the Cheka on, this group of thugs have been willing to murder and ruin their own people, as well as anyone and everyone else in the world, to hold on to and increase their own personal power. They eliminated dissidents in the 1930's, caused the Cold War, and are murdering Ukrainians and Russians opposed to them today. With so many innocents around the world suffering so severely from their atrocities, I'm not even going to complain too much if higher gasoline prices here are our only price for weakening their regime.

Paid $5.79 for diesel last Thursday, a few blocks down the road I saw $6.29
I'll be done when I'm finished, if that's not fast enough, take a number.

I’m still planning to go to WTW this year, all 4,000 miles worth. Other events might stop me, but gas won’t.
Holy cow, Rose is a teenager now! Done? Surely you jest. A teardrop is never "done".

here in Stanwood, Wash. the end of '2020' = $2.65 per gallon / one year later, end of 2021 = $3.65 per gallon which is a $1.00 increase per gallon in one year / today 5April 22 = $4.55 per gallon which is almost another $1.00 increase per gallon in about 4 months ....... ?????? that totals out to a almost a $2.00 per gallon increase in 1 year & 4 months - am now 'wondering' how much a gallon will be by the end of ?? 2024 ??? :? = I won't be doing much traveling the rest of this year ............. :?

No changes, still going on my 15,000 mile road trip starting 5/1. When finished I will have driven as far south as you can in the US Key West, further east than the US goes Sydney Nova Scotia Canada, as far north as you can go in the US Prudhoe Bay Alaska, and I have already driven in Hawaii. I am allowing 90 days form this trip. I will be seeing a couple of friends from high school;, one in Texas and one in Georgia, an a cousin in Florida. I am driving my 2016 Dodge Durango and towing my 2020 RPod 196 trailer. I will be staying at Elks lodges, KOAs, and Travel Hosts sites. Have allocated $20,000 for this trip.

I usually plan on towing my travel trailer at 65-70 mph. I now plan on towing it at 60-65 mph. That seems to be the sweet spot for engine torque/horsepower and gearing. My mileage at the lower speed usually goes from 8 mpg to 10 mpg. Not great, but it is better. :wine: $>

I'll stay local as much as I can...probably within my state or nearby the borders at the least.
When I filled my tank this week, gas was $5.20 a gallon and was the same two weeks age. It's been that high before, but in the summer.

No change for me.
Most of my trips are relatively short anyway.
Still plan on going to Walk the Winds. 8)

life is too short to let gas get in your way .the unheard-of thing common sense just slow down that you'll be safer and you'll save on fuel cost. check the tires and get rid of that crap you been hauling around in the back. Oil companies or pumping 40% less than they did a year ago and they're set to make close to a trillion dollars this quarter.so why work hard when you can do less work and make more money

I tow my RPod 196 (4500#) at 55 with my 2016 Dodge Durango. With no head winds and in 7th gear I get 14.5 to 15.5 mpg. The towing speed limit n CA is 55 and what the heck I am 79 years old and retired. I don't have to get any where in a hurry. The semi just blow past me at least at 60-65.
