Identify this roof rack

Postby 2one8 » Mon Apr 25, 2022 2:02 pm

Does anyone know what roof rack this is? Or have recommendations on a similar setup? I found it on this site, but it appears the OP hasnt been online since Sept. I like how it bolts to the side and use standard cross bars vs some of the truck bed and roof systems I have found have these massive side plates that extend up past the bars.

I used Yakima racks on mine. I had a set of older ones that clamped on the roof gutter. I made mounts from a section of aluminum box channel I cut in half and bolted to the walls.

Thule has what they call artificial rain gutters, part #542. They can be mounted on either vertical or horizontal surfaces and standard Thule gutter mount brackets will attach to them. Somewhat similar to what pmullen503 made.

Yeah I've seen the rain gutter deals. I'm not against them.

I did find a set on Amazon for truck beds thats very similar to the ones I posted regarding the design, but they are far less sturdy looking than what I posted above.

that is a Yakima back when cars had gutters above the doors as you got into 2000 they began to vanish.
I have a set the clip that they hook onto sole for about $75 I figured I would make my own if needed.
The style had changed a lot. You have an antique.
