Awnings.. Rail options in specific

Postby RJ Howell » Mon Jul 18, 2022 10:08 am

I know everybody uses Keder or a version there of, but..I don't see anyone designing they're own rail.

I made one from a piece of 1/2" PVC pipe I had around for my old trailer and about to do something for the truck camper now. I like the concept of Keder type rails and was hoping a few others might have come up with some more options of the years. Maybe I'm nt addressing google correctly or far too many folks have bought there way to the front of the pack (which seems to be happening a lot lately).

Anywho.. Have or have seen any other ideas beside the cut a slot in a pvc pipe? Would love to hear about it!

Great topic...We could use some advice. Our galley hatch is leaking and taking it in for some weatherproofing in 2 weeks. I have always wanted to get an awning off the back but needed the C-rail. Thought it might be a good time to do this since they are working on it anyway. How does the c-rail attach to the hinge? And what size would I get? Any direction would be helpful. BTW I have a 2006 Yoder Toter Silver Shadow.

3M VHB tape...
Wow really? I never would have thought of using tape.
Thanks for the idea.
