Any recommendation?

Postby JoshuaRio » Sun Dec 17, 2023 7:16 pm

I'm in the process of designing my foam teardrop trailer, and I'm contemplating whether a vent fan is necessary or if a roof vent alone would be adequate. I'll be incorporating wiley windows for effective airflow. Additionally, considering I reside in New Hampshire, extreme heat levels, akin to Arizona, aren't a primary concern.

Yes on the fan. Mine doesn't have one and I've been in a few stale nights with no wind that were miserable.

Yes on the fan. You should have one even in cold climates. Removing the humidity from the cabin's confined space is almost as important as having fresh air in that confined space.

There are options if you don't want to cut a hole through the roof. My most recent foamie has ventilation, removed with computer case fans, exiting through the floor. I'm on the WI/MI border and even in 30 degree weather I have at least one fan (40cfm) providing fresh air. That's without any heat source besides that generated by my body.

We always have our vent fan lid cracked (here in the Rockies) and rarely turn it on, but when we do, we need it. You'll produce a lot of heat (and moisture) when you're inside.

I reccomend the Fantastic fan with rain sensor.
Years ago I was napping in the teardrop at a gathering around the fourth of July.
Suddenly there's a down pour of rain.
The fan automatically closed down.
When it was dry again it opened up.

you definitely want a vent fan in the top to help with heat and air movement .Also when you do widely Windows put them as low as you can in the doors that will you get cold air to blow across your face we use cutting boards because they're tempered glass for the windows
