Window trim rings...

Postby *Inside » Tue Jan 02, 2024 2:49 am

It looks like it's about $70~$100 more to order 2 windows w/ the exact size thickness that I need (3/4") vs ordering a generic window for a 1.5" wall thickness.

My question is - has anyone ever regretted trimming out a window by adding their own window spacers? Or is too much of a hassle and I should just drop the extra money for the exact thickness windows?

Regrets?

Nope.

I added a matching accent to the fan.

Ah yeah that doesn't look too bad. I recall from your book that your walls are (1.25" thick) meaning that you only need a 0.25" spacer, right? But with 0.75" walls and a 0.75" spacer I'm wondering if it's going to look janky :(

I have 3/4" walls with 1.5" windows, used 1x to trim it out. I'm not the wood worker that @Tony is but they look very good to us. You can kinda see them in this photo. No regrets here.
