Good day!
I hope everyone is having a nice June. It has been raining lots and very windy up here in the north (Edmonton). Anyways, For the last 6 years I have been using a tent with an air mattress to camp. While that is fine, I live in a small condo and trying to dry it off if it rains during the camping trip can be a real pain the butt. I would like to get a small trailer as it is just me that would be staying in it. I go with my family and they tent camp. I am 6' tall.
The problem I am finding is that there is only a couple of RV dealership in the Edmonton (Alberta, Canada) Metro area that actually sell small lightweight or teardrop trailers. I'm guessing that these small trailers aren't as big here in Canada as they are in the US?
To that, I did find a couple of the Braxton Creek Bushwacker teardrops that are a decent price ($17k-$27K CAD, depending on floor plan). They are also fairly lightweight as I need the dry weight of the trailer to be 2,500 lbs or under. I did also find a couple Sunset Park RV Sunray 129 & 149 for similar prices. I don't know if I like the idea of the toilet being in the open in the 129 model.
What does everyone on here prefer, the side pull out cooking area/side cooking area or the rear cooking area? A/C I don't really need as I would probably just use the roof fan to circulate the air, especially if camping with no 120v power, and from what I read, the window A/C unit's they put in these need to be replaced every couple of years as they aren't meant to be bouncing around down the road. I see that the one model of the Bsuhwacker has a "fireplace" instead of a furnace, but I can't find any info on if it is propane or electric. It also seems like the one dealership I had visited, which didn't have that model, doesn't like having an awning on any of them, which I think is a must have. I also don't think I would need a shower/toilet as I only camp for 2-3 days tops. I think a hot water tank/fresh water tank would be a good thing to have.
Another question... How can I find out if I can get these in a different colour than white? I can't find any info on the website or info brocher for the Bushwacker. While white is fine, I want a trailer that is blue as that is my favourite colour and the colour of my vehicle.
Thanks for all the help.
