Which Cooktop do you use in your galley?

Postby Chief-John » Sun Apr 20, 2025 7:48 am

I've found that Induction Cooktops are great to cook with. No flames, no fire hazard on windy days, Good with any steel/ferrous pan or food can after opening of course. My Duxtop has adjustable wattage so I can dial it down for my 750W inverter.

We have the same brand of induction cooktop; it works great and I like that we can take it out of the van when we cook something that splatters. Our Griswold cast iron skillet works wonderfully on an induction cookstop:

We have a backup butane stove that's great for setting on a picnic table, doesn't take up much room and doesn't hit the battery like the induction cooktop.

I bought a case of the butane canisters 2 years ago and we've only used up one canister as we just don't cook as much as we used to when we're on road trips. We end up using the microwave more than anything else.

I use a propane gas burner. I'd use induction except that I already had propane pipes for the on demand water heater. Image
