Air condotioning vent location

Hello eevrybody

I have been designing my trailer and am at a important AC location hurdle. (I want to use a small window unit)

I do not want to mount it into the storage above the feet like I have seen in alot of designs because it would have to be vented into the galley and/or the galley would have to be open to use.

My choices are to mount it on the front wall on a sliding rail with a little flip up hatch

I would like to use this method if it would work

From what I gather from deconstructing the sketchup model

It seems to be mounted under the cabnets and a 90deg vent through the floor,

Can anyone see problems with this,

As long as you let the condenser side get good air flow, you shouldn't have a problem. Mine is mounted high in the cabin, I ducted the air to pull cool air in from the galley (the sides) and duct hot exhaust out the top (the center). The center is a like a ramp that curves up, there is space underneath the ramp where the intake duct sits.

Or you keep it totally outside and do not take up precious space.

@asianflava, where does your condenser drain run? I don't see a way to drain the water from the condenser.

I also debated on doing something like this but setting it up internally. That way I could tuck it away in a less obtrusive spot, vent out through floor then use your idea for ducts.

@asianflava, where does your condenser drain run? I don't see a way to drain the water from the condenser.

It kinda sits in a shallow pan, there are condensation drains on the two rear corners. I can always tilt the trailer back, but Left to Right is more difficult so I just put them on both sides. They join and drain out the bottom, you can just make out the elbow on the interior pic. The a/c unit is also like a pan, the drain on the back isn't all the way to the bottom so it still collects within the unit. I need to remove the unit and cut notches or drill holes in the bottom of the unit.

Yes there is a vent on the roof. If it rains, the pan catches it and it drains thru the condensation drains. If it will be a monsoon or while driving, I just put a piece of duct tape on it. I was going to make a reverse scoop for it, but never got around to it. I have the same vent in the galley to draw air in.
