Tile to the edge of the floor?

Just wondering if those of you that tiled your floor did so to the edge or did you stop short of where your walls are? In other words do your walls sit on top of your tile. Why or why not? I'm planning on using VCT tile.

VCT Vinyl Composition tile.

Is this sheet goods or square tiles (10 x 10 / 12 x 12 )

Sheet vinyl might stay in place better if installed "wall to wall" But in my opinion square small tile face to face of the walls. If you are concerned about keeping the edge tile in place there is no reason you couldn't install quarter round or base boards if you wish.

No not at all.... easy clean up and mud and dust tolerant.

I may be the wrong one to ask as I left the floor of Chubby raw osb. The queen mattress covers all of the floorspace and I haven't seen the floor since 07.

If using the self adhesive tiles I highly recommend that you also glue them down using the troweled on tile cement. I did a black and white checkerboard pattern using self adhesive tiles over ply for a bench top in my non-air conditioned garage, and at the first sign of heat the tiles started cupping and lifting up. I peeled them up (too easily), applied the cement with a notched trowel, laid them right back down, and have not had any problems since.

I would not put them under the walls. I would rather see a good wood to wood glue bond (PL, TB2, whatever) there, rather than have the tile be a potential "weak link" in the structural chain.

Bob and KC...thanks for the input. Think I'll tile to the wall instead of under it. Makes sense to have a wood to wood bond...and yes using adhesive for the tiles...I'm not a fan of the stick on type.

Seconded.

Some men do like to think that big mechanical fasteners (screws, nails, bolts, whatever) are real tough, but they are nothing compared to a good glue, particularly for something that's going to get shaken for the whole of its life.

speaking of my floor...i was working with it tonight to get it bolted down to the frame and some how its out of square by 3/16...and has a bit of a bow in it now...I'm thinking the wood shrank on me? I'm not going to worry about it too much...not much I can do about it at this point.
