This was a quick test, not involved by any means. I tested 3 pieces of Styrofoam for each adhesive. The test from top to bottom goes as follows:
- 1) Foil backed to Foil backed Styrofoam
2) Foam to Foam
3) Foam to Wood
Conclusions after 3 weeks:
The PL is stronger, but the PL 300 is very strong as well.
The PL Premium doesn't appear to have dissolved any of the insulation. However this was done in open air and it might be different in a confined space.
The more porous the surface the better. The wood and the Styrofoam surfaces were the strongest, but foil/plastic seal was more than sturdy enough for most uses. You can easily pick up the board by the top layer of the PL 300 glued Styrofoam.
