I carefully cut out the door openings and used the cutout portions to make the doors. Tight fit and they will match the opening perfectly.

I used a straight edge to do a plunge cut on the straight sides, top and bottom. Then used a jigsaw to cut the corners. Take a sanding block to smooth out the cut marks and make sure you have about 1/8 to 3/16 inch clearance between the door and the body to allow them to open correctly. Then you can build out the doors to match your wall thickness.

Think about your wall edge trim, door edge trim, and hinge. Think about how your door is going to seal. I was surprised at how thick all those add up to be. Used 3/4 plywood and cut my doors out of the side walls. After I got it all figured out, I had to trim my doors down to accommodate space for all the trim.

I ended up liking and installing regular hinges even though I bought special teardrop piano hinges to use.
