The plans I have in the galley area it calls for the dreded 3/8 notch in the galley wall the hatch skin runs out to the outside of the wall that is where it seals the angle fits on galley hatch and hags over the wall adding strength to the skin area that hangs over it also helps weatherproof it and hides the seal . When I started this build I didn't know about offset hindge these r in my opinion a bad set of plans because things have really been simplified . But people r still using them

If you've already cut the "notch" in the side walls, then an offset galley lid hinge will only make the gap you have to fill that much worse! Why don't you send me an e-mail to [email protected] and I'll send you back some drawings ... if you've got a couple of pictures of where you are, currently, in construction, I might be able to give you some ideas on how to make it go easier and more simply. I'm happy to help, if I can! As always, then ...

Thanks grant I have indeed already cut the notch got metal on roof and walls hatch has been built and skinned roof edge trim is on only thing left is to trim bottom of cabin hatch trim and seals and trim doors and install all door hardware I have an idea for the hatch if annealing angle doesn't work thinking of trimming gally wals with channel and just run some 2 inch flat stck on top to strengthen the overhang and use the stick on hatch seals on either the top of wall or on hatch itself probably on hatch this will lessen the notch therefore I can probably get away wit 3/4 angle instead of 2 inch I have experimented with annealing this with success it's just time consuming and messy that unless you have insert trim track that will fit 3/4 inch wall without any overhang into galley at this point it's trial and error too far to turn back now but won't make the same mistake next time lessen learned and again thanks for your interest and insight I will try to send you some pics
