My wish

Postby kenafp » Wed Dec 24, 2014 6:57 pm

I wish someone would offer a teardrop electrical component kit with various options.
The entrepreneur in me wants to do this, but I just don't know what it entails yet.
I just want to buy and install and not configure.
Is there any one out there who offers this?
It's a good life!

A kit? It's not that easy. However, go to the RV store or book store or Amazon or...? and get a copy of a book called Managing 12 Volts (How to Upgrade, Operate and Troubleshoot 12 Volt Electrical Systems) by Harold Barre. After you've read the first half of the book, you'll feel like you don't need a kit and that you can do this. ....And, you can!

If you only want a 120 AC system, read Caseydog's simple system here: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=37732

There is one kit that you can get for trailer running lights, though, and it is available at most any auto parts store; or, a set usually comes with your trailer chassis kit.

Its easy 12V is 2 wires and 120V is 3, wires black and red for 12V you can get it at auto store, get a fuse block for 12 DC at auto store
black, white and green or bare copper for 120V you can get this at HD
red is + black is - on 12V
black is hot wire white is neutral and green or bare is ground on 120V
trailer lights at 2 wire 12V if they are Black and White black is + white is -
the wiring digram will tell you which ones are turn and brake lights
black goes on brass screw white goes on silver and green or bare goes on green screw for receptacles
black from power source goes on top screw and black going to device goes on bottom screw top is ON and bottom is OFF
Hope this helps you make it easier

A Progressive Dynamics PD4045-45-Amp-Inteli-Power-Mighty-Mini-Power-Center is the heart of an excellent electrical system inside a teardrop camper. Many of the other parts needed can be purchased from an electrical supplier like www.delcity.net.
