Supply Database

Postby NightCap » Fri Jul 07, 2006 8:12 pm

I saw a show on tv about teardrop trailers and the people who own them. I am hooked on the idea. I am starting right away with the design of my trailer and get my shopping list going. I am only limited my paydays. Little at a time I guess. I created a searchable database of where to get supplies including links. I for one have been looking for the best places to find supplies for the teardrops. Feel free to add all the sources you know. I for one would be glad to find good places to deal with.

thanks, kevin

Aw, another one bites the dust after watching RV CRAZY. Welcome aboard Kevin.
Anything you want to know about building a teardrop, you can find right here. Matter of fact you just may get to much input and you'll be more confused than before you asked the question.

Have a good day.

Buy it as you need it. It won't seem like that much. I took 2 1/2 years to build mine and it didn't bother me a bit.

Welcome.... this board will give you the best ideas, info, links, support, encouragement and FRIENDS to go CAMPING WITH!!!

What state are you in? It will do you a world of good if you can see someone's teardrop in person, or swing by a campout before you start building -- believe me!

Welcome Kevin,
I never heard of a teardrop until a little over a year ago. All it took was to see one in person. I seen it on the ferry when I was coming back from tent camping. Right then I told my wife. I have to have one of those. I've been obsessed ever since.
This is a great sight. All the info you would want for the mere price of pic's. Madjack will be around in a while to explain how that woks.

Nightcap, you are in the right place for advice or just a sounding board. The people here are really top notch. It would be nice if you added State to your profile, you'll get lots more "local" support that way.

Can't wait to see which direction you go with your build.

John

Thanks for the nice welcome. I would love to see some real live teardrops. I find I am going to sleep thinking of how to get the most inside space, how to fasten the sides to the floor. etc etc etc. When I start building I will document with pictures. I have some good ideas for skins, but when I get close enough to using them I'll ask what you all think. Again thanks for the warm welcome.

Kevin,
A good opportunity to see live teardrops and meet some really helpfull people in your area is at the Lemay car show August 25-27. Click on the Destinations link above to get more info. I went last year and saw my first TD "in person". I took a lot of pictures and asked a lot of questions. The TD owners/builders were happy to share their knowledge and show off their TDs!

Once you get bit it is hard not to spend many (too many?) of your waking hours thinking of how to build the perfect TD!

Good luck!

There's a wonderful gal in the TearJerker's - Jan - who saw RV Crazy and became instantly enamored with teardrops. She found our Yahoo Group and asked some questions. Within two weeks of seeing the show, she had herself a brand new Little Guy and was camping with us at Hickory Run in PA.
