Paint from Aluminum - Question

Postby Classic Finn » Thu Jul 27, 2006 6:41 pm

How difficult is it to remove paint from aluminum ....I have a light coat of a paint protective on our aluminum and its sort of purple /pinkish in color.

It dont seem as though its powder painted either..

What do you mean by painted???? Is it painted on both sides? If it is powder coated then I really don't know if or how to remove. But if it just enamel paint then try some paste paint remover. That should get the vast majority of it off - then see what lies underneath - maybe there is a reason the stuff was painted.

Can you get a small piece to test?

Good Luck and keep us informed

Hi Heikke,
Just in case you didn't notice my posts about S.O.S. and my windows...don't use it to clean the aluminum. I'm told that the little steel particles will cause rust later on.
