request for help and advice for the design and implementatio

Hello, I need your ideas and advice!
I have a trailer, but with irremovable sides. I don't want to transform this trailer, so that it can serve us the rest of the time. French legislation admits that there is no transformation if the installation can be dismantled without tools.
the interior size of the trunk is 1.31 by 2.28 m.(51'' * 90'') 171301
My idea is to build a cell that sits precisely in the box of the trailer and can be easily extracted (by lifting with our agricultural tractor or by sliding it backwards).
I'm thinking of a wild goose type teardrop with the door that lifts up along the roof just like the picture, and a mosquito net roof + truck cover.[album][/album]
Exterior walls in plywood, taking up the entire wheelbase of the trailer, in order to gain width, and for the aesthetic look too.
Spartan interior, 70 cm bench seat and bed on chest on the right, storage with a small worktop on the left.
it must be as light as possible
I would like to gain 21 cm in width, on each side, including above the wheels, but I wonder about the solidity of these extensions.

I think if you use some very light plywood & framing, it would be good. Since you already have the trailer, building a box to fit well should be fine. Look into some 3mm Baltic Birch and some type of light wood for the frame (pine, cedar or locust). A box to fit inside an existing shape should be OK & very easy to design to fit.

My concern would be what the government inspectors might say about a large industrial "tool" like a fork-lift or agricultural tractor being used to remove the box from the trailer. Is it a tool?

If it were mine, I'd fiberglass inside and out.

The fact that you want to be able to take it off of the trailer makes me think that it will inevitability rack at some point. That could cause the joints to start to open up. Once water gets in those joints they will start to rot.

Even 3mm plywood is extremely tough once glassed.

Hello everyone,
Here is the evolution of my project.
On the first image, the dimensions of the trailer. I added the measurements in your system (but how do you manage to find your way around?).
On the second image, back view, open, and side view, also open.
Frame in light wood, sides in 10 mm (13/32nd inch) plywood, cover in 780g/m² truck tarpaulin, removable on mosquito net. The tarp should be able to be rolled from one end or the other up to the hinge.
Seen from the back, the first 40 cm at the bottom are in plywood (15 inch), with a door, then a tent canvas, the last 40 cm are also in plywood, in order to be able to hang the harnesses and the collar to dry (not inside, otherwise I will smell as much as my horse). This is also why I planned the back closure in retreat, it will also protect the canvas.
I would like to include fixed bays on the sides, I have two 130*30*0.5 cm (51*11*5/32 inches) polycarbonate plates, but I can't find a suitable glazing bead (I can't find the exact word: joint?).
The tarpaulin will be completely closed during the journeys, the return on the sides will protect all the plywood cutouts.
The price of the set should be modest, 220 € for the plywood, 100 € for the tarpaulin, and recovery for the rest. It will remain the finish, I have no idea for the moment.
My question is always the same: what do you think?
With thanks,

Might I suggest that you work with some cardboard and light fabric to make a
couple of models.

Its easier to study the operation and utility of your method by doing so. Use these
models to study the balance points and lifting attachments you may need. Its unlikely
you will be able to lift the 'box' from the bottom. Perhaps you will need to add wood
runners(or skids) to the bottom for wear resistance.

I'm sorry, I do'nt understand the last sentence. The bottom of all the box ? Is there a risk to make a join the water could go in and damage the plywood ?

No exactly sure what you are thinking.

To modify the trailer to be towed in that expanded configuration might need a lot of design work. Issues of the structural integrity(can hatch withstand the forces, forces on the vertical components, etc), water intrusion and overall balance may be difficult to overcome.

There are designs out there, commercial system also, that do what you are suggesting: raising the rear of the trailer to allow for more vertical and to some extent horizontal space. They have fold away components that can be raised when parked. Obviously they take up weight and space. But they reduce the need to build enough strength to handle highway speeds. There are still issues with moving the components into place and making everything water proof. But a static system should be easier to address.

For example
The later two are much more elaborate than I think you desire. However, they could provide ideas on designing/modifying your existing trailer. I believe someone did what you might be interested in on this site.

If your removable camper box is to fit to a flat trailer, the flat sides will rub against each other... Adding 3 or 4 strips about 5cm wide by, say, 3cm tall the length of your camper helps provide protection. A separation between the trailer and the bottom of the camper portion protects the bottom and allows air flow to dry any water that is collected there.

I'm an amateur at this. :NC
But It would be my approach if I tried to do what you are proposing.

Thank you again. I understand now Pchast answer. I was thinking : if the truck tarp comes below the frame, in front and rear, have I really reasons to fear water inside ? Reminber : my tractor is a horse (no highway ;) ), my maximal speed will be around 10 miles per hour ...
I'll try to make and show you a model ...
Sorry again with my language, I try to go without translator ...

You always have to worry about water because of morning dew and condensation. Putting several thin runners between the trailer bed and cabin floor is an easy way to make sure you never have a problem.
