sealing the door

Hi,
I'm getting ready to start working on installing the door. I'm looking for suggestions on what to use, And how to go about it (pics would be great)

I did a search, But didn' really find anything.

I'd ilke to do this as easy as possible, But don't want it to leak. I have pics of the door opening in my album

This is how I did mine, I think the trim pieces helped a lot. It allowed the water to run along it rather than right into the door. I had just the inside seal on it at Cedar Hill and it leaked. I put the aluminum and trim pieces on without the primary seal and there was no leaks. I put the primary seal on there as extra insurance.

Oh yeah, I have the offset hinges that Grant sells.

Nice job on the trim, Not sure if it will work on my door, I have rounded corners, So not sure how good it would bend, But I may try it.

I am builing using the Cubby plans.

Right now, I just put on the first door. The plans call for using 1/4in rubber tube gasket on the T-Molding on the door.

When I do that, the door won't close!!!

This must be what all that talk about "offset hinges" is about.
If I space out the body side of the hinge, won't that do the same thing?

Also, how the heck do you attach rubber tube weather stripping to aluminum trim!?!? Nothing seems to stick to it, and I haven't seen any self-sticky tubing!

Any input is appreciatted!

I spaced out the hinge side, it worked well.

I used self stick X-treme rubber weather seal made by Frost King. It is available at just about any hardware store. It sticks to the t-molding just fine.

How did you get your seal to stick to theangle?

What hinges did you use?

And, wow, that finish on the door jamb is shiny--looks like plastic! Is that paint?

Here's a picture of my door jamb.

I used the torpedo hinge from Austin Hardware and spaced the door out 1/4". Then wraped in T-molding from Grant and his self stick seal.

We had to space ours out 1/8 inch. And yes, that's under the hinge on the trailer side, not the door sid.....
