Sealing and glue questions.

Postby mufb » Mon Aug 14, 2006 9:50 am

I've got my profile cut. I'm about to start gluing in framework for the sandwich. First tho, I read somewhere on this forum that the interior of both skins should be sealed the same as the outside of the skins. I was planning on sealing with thinned spar varnish brushed on. Do I do that the the inside of the skins also? And, if I do, will my glue stick to the wood after the varnish is applied? I'm using titebond III. Help my out. Bill

Bill,
I didn't put sealer on the glued parts of my frame that were structural. Titebond lll is waterproof and you shouldn't need to seal those surfaces. I used some oil based poly floor finish I hadn't opened. Had it around for a couple of years.

We went all around that subject but I don't remember if the glue question was answered.
