My camper sits level on my hitch, so when camping we often leave it attached to the car. No need to unhook it as we're camping, not driving.

I carry two small jackstands with me. They work as stabilizers, and they would also come in really handy if I have a flat.

Mine are definitely bigger than that! Like I said, they work great and I'd use them again. But I think I'd buy a set of the lighter ones next time.

Hell, I haven't done hardly any camping at all in mine, but I'll be damned if I'm going to buy and shlep wheel chokes with me when two stupid BRANCHES at the site will do the same thing.

See what I mean?

Then you can grab two more and wedge them between the frame and the ground and you have stabilizers.

I don't think the HF bottle jacks will work, but I'm not 100% sure because i got my bottle jack at WM.

Mine has to go on the axle. It doesn't extend enough to reach let alone lift the actual frame.
Here we go again!

I also never thought I would need the jacks, because of the same reasons others gave, the hitch stand and the 2 rear tires, I think that most of us overbuild these things so I would say better to install them now than later. Later when I was building the inside cabinet I was happy I did, because it moved too much for me.

Sounds like the jackstand idea might be the best for me for the stabilizing part. I try to always carry a small floor and bottle jack to adjust the levels, etc. If it is too high i can use blocks or something.

We like ours. They do hold the tear steady while at camp.

I even used them to hold up the rear of the camper up while I was building it.
The rear of the camper was supported by the jacks during the entire build. Jack stands held up the front during construction.
