cabinet ?

I am doing a fiberglass trailer and I like to use wood cabinets. will have a flange to bolt to .On the face frames I would like to hide the bolts and not have a wood plug On cement they have red head fastener .Is there any thing like that for wood? that way I could bolt from the back and have threads in the wood

Glassie...not exactly sure what you ae wanting but if you look at the threaded inserts on this page, they may be what you are looking for...

How are you going to secure the cabinets to the trailer. If you secure using the bottom and top of the cabinet, you could use pocket screws from the inside to secure the face frame to those pieces make sure to use glue also. even if the top is only a 1x2 epoxied to the top inside of the trailer it would still work.

If you use wood glue or epoxy and wood screws the screws only act as clamps until the glue sets and dries, in other words, it is the glue that holds the face frame on.

glass, keep in mind that the items you have pictured are caled "T" nuts...they go into the backside and the bolt come in from the opposite side so that when tightened, the "T" flange is pulled against the wood, securing all together.......

So you want to secure the face frame to the cabinets, without any plugs or screw heads showing.

Personally I would use a drywall screw, and plug the hole.

But I believe in wood working they use biscuits and glue.



What if you would use glue, and an angle bracket, like this...

The items that glassice has pictured are not t nuts, they will put threads into wood with nothing showing on the outside. The link MadJack sent has very good pictures.
