DANNY - 1/8" baltic Birch - Where?

Postby Guy » Mon Feb 26, 2007 2:48 pm

Dear Halfdome,

I read in a recent post where you had used 1/8" Baltic Birch. Where were you able to find that, which size sheet, and a what cost?

Thank you in advance.
Regards,

Look at a real lumber store , not a box store. Baltic birch come in 5' x 5' sheets most of the time. I have seen it from $20-35 a sheet. Most real lumber store can also get, birch, maple, cherry, & oak in 1/8" x 4' x 8'. They will run $30-80 a sheet. I got my cherry & maple for $27 a sheet.

Have no Idea where you're located but in the Atlanta Area

http://www.hardwoodweb.com/distribution/awpc.cfm

Has baltic birch 5x5x1/8 for just under 13.00 a sheet.

Geron

Don't know if they ship or not.

I got my 1/8" Baltic Birch last summer at Industrial Plywood located in Lewistown and Reading, PA for just $9.25 a sheet (5'x5'). Beautiful wood at a bargain price!

Guy, be careful with the 1/8 Baltic birch. Some of it will have football patches on both sides. YOu need to be able to look at each sheet. ;)

Guy, In the PNW CROSSCUT LUMBER Is the best place to buy Baltic Birch since they have good prices and let you pick through the whole pile if you like. A year ago I paid about $11.00 for a 1/8"x60"x60" sheet. :D Danny

I'm not Danny but you might try 'Real Lumber' in Riverside. They carry every kind of plywood that you can think of.

Oops, that's the one. I believe they also have a store in Orange County. Maybe it's Anaheim.
