How about Bedliner to---

Anything to do with mechanical, construction etc

Postby wolfix » Thu Mar 22, 2007 2:45 pm

I've looked into this for other uses......here is a company for the DIY'ers. They have colors....... Wal-Mart has it in black........
http://www.durabakcompany.com/google-durabak.htm

I did question if it was rolled on if it was as smooth as being sprayed on......

But if a person did the bottom as he was building it, then had a bedliner company shoot the upper side, $300 would'nt be bad. I do not know the spray business well enough to do myself.

This would work for a very utilitarian TD. Just pressure wash it, Armor -All it, and you are ready to go camping!!!!!!

Hey Danny... yeah, I'm sure they aren't the prettiest thing but they are full width and they are really 'spose to work... being that it's removable I'd just take it off when I unhooked etc.. function over fashion  .. but then again, like I said, I don't know if I'd do it or not either, just considering the options. Right now I'd just like to get the dang TD dried and rolling.. all this last min. stuff is TAKES FOREVER.

Keith , you'll probably still be tweaking your TD this time next year. I'm on another project for mine, I thought it was as far as I could take it until this afternoon's :lightbulb: . Danny

Oh I know I will be.. I haven't even TOUCHED the inside... right now I'm just concentrating on getting the trailer painted, getting the TD filled, sanded and painted, getting doors made, getting it "dry"... I just wanna use it before June.. inside done or not.

Your local Carquest Auto Parts Store sells a product called Herc-U-Liner. It's around $100 per gallon and that includes roller and an extra cover. I did my entire frame and the underside of the floor and that took almost 1-1/2 gallons of the porduct. I think you can use Xylene to thin it if you want to spread it out thinner. It is fairly heavy bodied and has small bits of rubber for its texture.
I would think you could do a teardrop with two gallons.

And, Danny they make a detachable set of dust whiskers that mount over your hitch. And remove easily when you are parked.

Hey Danny...that's what I'm talking about...they make them in that grassy material and "solid" rubber which would block even more...but GOOD NITE...$269...that's just CRAZY expensive  ...looks like it's time for us to "play with our welders" and make our own don't you think?

I was going to go this route...Durabak, but it came out to $422 with the shipping.

$422 is cheaper than "hiring" it done... That stuff is expensive...but I hear it's 'spose to be solid as a rock and VERY protective.... in all honesty... Aluminum skin, trim etc. woud probably cost you that much... epoxy and filler and paint would probably cost you that much... If the "bedliner" is what you want, just do it... as I once read on this forum...you LONG forget about the money you spent when it's done and you're enjoying it.

OH..and FYI: Durabak, from my review, had the best ratings..and one of the ONLY I found that you could get "non-textured" if you wanted that smoother look.

Keith, the quote I think your referring to is from our host Mike.
