Well...we're talking maybe 20 bucks one way or the other with this instant rebate. Because you can sure as heck find a 5000 for around 80 bucks anywhere.

So you gotta look at all of the factors and decude whether that $20 extra savngs is really worth it, taking all othe factors into considerstion.

For me, the stupidest thing I did, based on where my AC is mounted--over the tongue--is to not buy that Haier unit that everyone has that blows UP and not right on your head.

Didn't know about that then, but when it comes to the AC, a few bucks savings for this really ain't worth it.

Some of you may want to check eBay...

eBay Bid Confirmed: White Kenmore 5150 BTU Single Room Air Conditioner for US $29.92... (120030334397)
Even with shipping US $21.76 it was only $51.68 to my door.

The unit was new with a shop worn looking box... no damage to the AC inside.

Just gotta have that remote control A/C so I won't have to sit up in bed to adjust it. 8)

Like the one Brick showed, so it doesn't blow right on you. A lot of folks here bought the Haier (spelling?). I think it's a Sam's CLub or Costco unit, but not sure.

I've got you all beat: ebay $12! Of course, I had to drive two hours to go pick it up.

Also, it is a couple years old and I think even just a few years ago they weighed twice as much as they do now. It works well, though.

Ok, so if you drove two hours, and I'm guessing averaging 50 mph. that's about 200 miles roundtrip. If you drive a Jeep, I'm guessing about 20 mpg, and costs of gas is roughly $3 per gallon. Let's see...

That comes to a grand total of $867.12.

Wait.

I hate math.
