Front Window

Anything to do with mechanical, construction etc

I really like the placement of the (future) window. It looks really smooth putting it just at the point of the curve. Plus when head is on a pillow you'll be able to have a nice amount of light coming in, without going right into your eyes.

Thank you for the kind words.. Im really saddened that the plan I had was so expensive here.. and it wouldve looked real nice as well. but ok this one will be good too.. and a whole lot cheaper than originally planned.

Here is a photo of what I had in mind until the price changed my mind..but his will be nice to watch the arctic stars from as well.. ;) Except it would of been made to fit the front curvature or radius ...not as low as in the photo..

 Your going to look at Arctic skys through smoke colored glass. That should keep the moose from looking in anyway. ;)

There you get an idea of what it will be.. easy and inexpensive for this Ol Fart.. The center section will be wood that will also give support for it..I,ll get some more in a few hours..

Ok cutting and trimming the Template for the Ply... Getting there..I notice the Rubber Moulding will not work if the radius is too tight.. have to trim that yet but getting some progress...

Finn...just an idea...plex won't bend like a poly (polycarbonate GE brand Lexan) will. I don't know if you want a curve to the window or not, but the poly is 30X more impact resistant than the plex, plex will shatter, poly won't, you can even put it in a break and bend it...you would probably have to wipe some smoke tint on the interior of it however. Poly will however expand and contract more than the plex with temps...but that probably won't be an issue with you vay up in the farrr nort. Just a thought...Doug

Mornin' Hiekki,
Window is looking awesome! Looks like you had another productive session. I wonder, though. do you ever sleep? I look a the post times and it seems like you are awake 24 hours. Maybe it's that strange looking fowl you have running around.
That is a very interesting critter-looks similar to a Finn-Irish Roosturkey that I saw once :? .
Keep up the good work & keep us posted.

Good Afternoon Tim and Lori
The window is getting there.. didnt get much done today since we had a big Hockey Game .. which we won to place us in the finals.. against the Russian Team. So that put my work in a total halt..

I did get the cabinet frames in the galley stained - Nice Mahogany to match the countertop.. 2nd coat yet needed..

Thats about it then till this evening since now another great Hockey Game starts in about 15 minutes.. Sweden - Canada..

I do leave my computer on and the forum open pretty much all the time even though Im doing somthing else..

I do get some sleep there too but the race is on to get the Voyager done so we can enjoy Midsummer Festivals starting June 24..

All be here off and on..

Have a Great Day.

Best regards Classic Finn ;)

PS Tim that Bird is a beautiful sight to see in the woods.. They are huge and colorful.. and will attack if harmed. ;)
