If you can build a cured top for a chest, you can build a curved door for your TD... I was worried myself, but in all reality, it wasn't that bad and it fit the first time; just take your time, think it thru, dry fit it with screws before you glue, you'll do great.

My hatch construction went fairly smooth as did the rest of the costruction. The part that proved most troublesome was the tongue box. That was because of over confidence after building the rest of the trailer. Watch out for over confidence it will bite you, it did me.

The hatch was built attached to trailer.

I'd take building a hatch any day over trimming out the interior, at least I don't have to get in and out of it thousands of times. It is practically manditory that you build in in place for good fit up...at least that's my opinion...I only had this one off and on 1 time...Doug

Aaaa-men Doug :fb . I'm workin' on the interior of mine now, lights, storage, cabinets, trim, etc., & even with good quality kneepads, my knees (& every other bodily joint) are so sore I can hardly stand to touch 'em. I tell ya folks, I ain't found a damn thing about this 'getting old' that I like  . Only thing worse would be the alternative

 Yep! I got new muscles. I know they are new cause I have never felt them before. Fingers hate clamps too.

Oh yeah, the hatch caused the clamp issue. :?

Guy,

Looks like it turned out pretty good for something that you really did not want to do in the first place.
